Quality Service Uniqueness Value
Among the rarest Persian carpets are oval rugs like this Qom carpet and they are very sought after due to their uniqueness and value. Oval Persian rugs are very hard to make due to their oblique shape and are somewhat of a novelty. This oval Qom carpet is a medium sized piece, which is the most common size in Persian oval rugs. Room size Persian Tabriz rug with a classical Gonbad or Gonbardeh design, which refers to the dome shaped design of the oriental carpet. This Persian carpet design is typically found in large oriental carpets and is a specialty of Tabriz rugs, even though it is sometimes found in other types of Persian carpets. It is one of the more modern design and very popular with my clients, who are looking for a durable showpiece Persian rug. Large room sized Nain Persian rug with a very unique design and very traditional Nain carpet colors. Nain rugs are made near and in the city of Isfahan and they come in various types of quality like most other Persian carpets. The Nain rugs that I feature are made of a very high quality and to have over 600 kpsi is not unusual. To begin with, all of my Nain oriental carpets are 6-lah quality and I always look for unique designs like this one. This large Tabriz Persian carpet features a dome shaped design known as Ghombad Faraji. It is a very rare variation of the main Gombardeh design and extremely hard to find in oriental rugs. Typically, this design is only made in very high quality 60raj+ Tabriz Persian rugs, but I have been able to offer similar Tabriz carpets in larger sizes. Like all of my other 50 raj Tabriz rugs, this carpet is designed to be a showpiece and also very durable.

Featured Persian Carpet Design
"Pure Silk QOM Rugs"

Large square pure silk Qom Persian rug with a geometric design called Gombad or Gombardeh, which is extremely rare in Persian carpets other than Tabriz rugs. This Persian Qom carpet was amongst my most popular silk rugs and sold very quickly to a client in Sweden. As with all of my pure silk Qom oriental rugs, this Persian carpet is made of a very high quality and features well over 700 kpsi. In addition to laying on a floor, many of my clients also like to hang them on walls and some Persian Qom carpets are even framed. Large round pure silk Qom Persian rug with a geometric design called Gombad or Gombardeh. Round Persian rugs are rare and to round pure silk oriental carpets are extremely hard to find and are very valueable. This type of a Qom Persian rug often has over 700 kpsi and it made of the finest pure silk making it one of the most valuable oriental carpets. Many of my clients like to buy the Qom oriental rugs for floors, but are also used for hanging on walls.
Pure silk Qom rugs are among the finest and most valuable Persian carpets available and come in many different sizes, colors, and designs. These type of Oriental carpets can have between 500-1200 kpsi and are designed to be placed in formal areas where a high end Persian rug is requested to match the decor and many of my clients also like to hang the Qom carpets on walls. Despite their very thin pile, these type of Persian rugs are very durable and can bring a life-time worth of joy to the owner. Unfortunately, some of the Qom rug designs are being copied in Indian and Chinese silk rugs and it is very important to know how to detect the difference. Given the value and novelty of these Persian rugs, I have added more info about them in my showcase.

Pure Silk Persian Qom Rug Showcase

High quality Persian rug being handmade by weavers in Tabriz, Iran. As you can see in this picture, high quality Persian carpets are genuine handmade rugs that are made one at a time.

All of my Persian rugs are genuine handmade Oriental carpets by skilled weavers as you can see this picture and in my galleries. Unlike lower quality Persian rugs, high quality Persian carpets are most often made in small rug businesses and homes by families, who have been weaving rugs for generations.
In this picture, you can see a round Tabriz Persian carpet being made by a weaver in Tabriz, Iran. This Tabriz rug was completed a few years ago and shipped to me shortly after it was completed. Every genuine Persian rug is handmade and as you can see in the picture, many Oriental carpets are made in small family businesses where the art is passed from one generation to the next. Due to the direct contacts between my family and the weavers, I am able to purchase unique and hard to find rugs that many retailers can not offer.
My family is from Tabriz and all of the rugs you see are purchased directly from the weavers. I do not deal in any rugs that are stored in warehouses.

All of my Tabriz and Nain Persian carpets are made of fine Kurkwool and have most have large silk highlights or have silk added to the pile. The Qom rugs that I offer are all pure silk and are the of the very high quality. Here you can see a young man trimming the silk highlights and adding the final touches on the Persian rug. Large Persian Tabriz rugs like this 10' by 14' piece can take several months to make and are typically woven by 2 to 4 people. Once a Persian rug is complete, it is removed from the frame, trimmed, washed, and then sold to buyers or local shop owners. The person in the back in my mother, who lives in Tabriz, and she is my main purchaser. Our passion and respect for the Oriental carpet weavers has allowed us to purchase many of these truly unique Persian rugs and we maintain a tremendous relationship with many of them.

For more information and pictures, please visit my information pages.

This Persian carpet weaver is using a special shaving tool to carve out the silk highlights, which is a commonly done in high quality Persian rugs. The tool that the young man uses is designed to trim the silk highlights of this Tabriz Persian rug and it is a very careful and slow process. One mistake can cause tremendous damage to the oriental carpets.

Square Tabriz Mahi Persian carpet made by the Pirouzian family, who make some of the most unusual and finest Tabriz Mahi Oriental rugs. Unlike the standard Tabriz Mahi rugs, these Persian carpets are extremely fine and often feature much more added silk highlights. Mahi Tabriz carpets are often used in high traffic areas, but the high quality rugs like this square Persian rug are also perfect as a showpiece. As with all Pirouzian rugs, this piece has a signature and it is a great example of a high end Oriental carpet.

Quality:
As you look throughout my website, you will see that I only offer high end Persian rugs that are both luxurious and durable. Since this is a small home-business, I can focus on my passion for fine Oriental carpets and I would never offer any genuine Persian rugs that I would not use myself. Instead of confusing you with empty promises and many different types of qualities, I specialize in genuine handmade Persian carpets from Tabriz, Nain, and Qom as well as lots of information pages so that you can be informed and intrigued. Please feel free to compare my selection of genuine Oriental rugs with that of other retailers and you will see why my clients keep returning and referring others to me.

Large pure silk Persian Qom rug with a dome shaped design called Gombardeh or just Gombad. These type of high end pure silk Qom Oriental carpets are very popular with my clients and are great examples of what high end Persian rugs should look and feel like. Most high end Qom Persian rugs feature very traditional designs and even though the majority of the Oriental carpets are of a much lower quality, it is these high quality pure silk Persian rugs, that has given the name the respect it rightfully deserves.

Service:
Whether you are looking for a small Persian carpet or a very large and expensive piece, the service will be the same and I personally handle all aspects of the transaction from the beginning to end. As you look around the website, you will probably notice a very personal and straight-forward approach to Persian rugs, which is exactly what I do. I believe that the best way to run a business is to treat a client the way I would want to be treated and I truly believe in the old-fashion way of doing things. My clients often comment on the relaxed and  professional manner in which I conduct myself. This Persian carpet business is my passion and more of a hobby and my service is accordingly personal.

Another very unusual Persian carpet is this octagon Tabriz rug with a silk foundation and a 60 raj quality. Due to my personal passion for rare and unique oriental carpets, I always try to offer rugs that are different from what most other retailers sell in their stores. This Tabriz carpet was actually a twin set, but due to the large size I sold both carpets seperately. Finding octagon shaped Persian rugs is extremely rare and this twin set were the first ones that I have offered so far.

Uniqueness:
My passion is for unusual Persian rugs that are rarely ever offered by others. Even though this is a small Persian carpet business and I do not offer the large quantity that most retailers have, I hear from folks all the time who tell me that I have rugs that they have never seen before. Whether the Oriental rugs are round, oval, octagon, twins, metal based, or any other shape, I am always excited to be able to offer them provided of course that they have the quality that I and my clients expect. Through my family's rug businesses, I am able to have direct contacts with many Persian rug weavers, which allows me to truly pursue my passion. If you like to see some truly unique rugs, don't miss my "personal favorites" section.

A square Persian Nain carpet with a very unique design and shape. Square oriental rugs are a bit of a challenge to find and large square rugs like this Nain carpet are even more rare. Although most Nain carpets tend to have very traditional designs, I tend to feature Persian Nain carpets that are unique and different from most others. The quality of this and all of my Nain carpets are extremely high and tend to have around 600 kpsi.

Value:
One of the many reasons why Persian rugs are so popular has to do with their value and the fact that they are genuine handmade pieces of art. Unfortunately, many retailers like to exaggerate the values of the oriental carpets or mislead you with many different gimmicks, bogus discounts, and broken promises.
Every Persian carpet has a real value and it is current economic conditions that decide what it is and not some imaginary believe. Every Persian rug that I offer has a clearly marked price and you can easily compare it with that of others. MPrugs.com has been in business since 1999 and as you can see, there are no gimmicks and no cheap sales pitches. Just my passion for valuable Oriental rugs.
