I really enjoyed going through your web site. The information and pictures of the weavers were great. I have a 100% silk, Persian rug from Nain, 6 x 9, signed by a Mr. Pahlavah. It is a tree of life design, very pretty browns, golds, greens, etc. Iwanted to find out more about this region and possibly the weaver. Do you know of any web sites as informative as yours dedicated to Persian rugs in the Nain region? If so, I would appreciate your feedback.
Size: 9'9" by 6'9"
Color: Main colors are beige, salmon pink, white, etc.
Material (Pile): Kurkwool and silk added as highlights
Foundation: Cotton
Price: $3400.00
Notes: One of the most unique pieces in my collection and please don't ask me
to find any other ones like it. Typically, these oval Persian rugs come in a
much smaller size like a 5x3, and this is the first time that I have ever seen a
large one. There are alot of large silk highlights in this Persian rug and it's
a very fine piece, but the shape is so unique that it will be focal point of the
Tabriz rug. As with most oval Tabriz rugs, there is a kelim that serves like a
border and it's necessary to keep the Persian rug in it's oval shape. Definetely
a one-of-a-kind and a very beautiful one as well.
