Hope you are doing and I wish you a happy new year as well.
The Qom rug is made completely of silk like all of my other Qom rugs. Unlike
the Tabriz rug that you have, the pile and fringes in these fine Qom rugs
are completely made of silk. The only difference between this Qom and the
others is that it does not have a signature, which is a bit unusual. All of
my Qom rugs have a signature and this is the first one that I have received
that does not have one and I can not tell you why. The signatures are a nice
addition, but are not a requirement and many weavers do not add them. For
example, the Tabriz rugs like yours are not signed and it is really up to
the weaver. Most of the Qom rugs are signed, but this one does not have it
unfortunately.
These type of Qom rugs are very popular with my clients and many like to
hang them on walls in addition to laying them on floors. They are very fine
pieces.
I'm sure that I had mentioned this to you before, but as a returning client,
you will receive a 10% discount. Most of my clients keep coming back and
this is my way of thanking them. If memory serves me well, you also live in
California, so I will need to add the sales tax as before, but the discount
will help a little bit.
As always, please feel free to let me know if you have any questions and I
look forward to hearing from you.

Notes: This Tabriz Persian rug was made by a very well known and respected
weaver "Faraji". His family business has been in Tabriz for many, many years and
have produced some of the finest rugs. If you ask any retailer or expert,
everybody knows about this weaver and his skills. Until a few years ago, the
family would only make extreme high end rugs and are now also producing some
50raj pieces with this well known design, which has become like a trademark.
Very elegant and quiet in design, these Persian rugs are both luxurious and
durable. You can see in the close-ups, that a great deal of silk was added to
the designs and the workmanship is according. Every one of these rare pieces is
signed by Faraji in a very small part of the design. The solid black works as
a great contrast with the silk highlights and the light border. Rare size too.
